The Dumas method maximizes productivity and is the most suitable solution for laboratories that handle a high number of samples per day and require fast results.

The NDA 702 is a fully automated elemental analyzer controlled by DUMASoftTM software. It delivers nitrogen/protein results in just 3-4 minutes and allows the choice of helium or argon as carrier gas

Versatile analyzer for solid and liquid samples: what is the advantage of the NDA 702?

The NDA 702 analyses samples up to 1 g and reduces operating costs thanks to optimized gas management and the long service life of the consumables. Thanks to the option to choose between helium and argon, the costs for helium can also be saved.

Handling

The NDA 702 allows simultaneous loading of different matrices and accepts solid, semi-solid and liquid samples and is designed for round-the-clock operation 365 days a year.

The electronic autosampler is supplied with a disk with 30 positions. It is possible to add up to three positions for a total of 117 samples.

The LOD detection limit is the lowest in its class and allows minimum nitrogen readings of just 0.001 mgN with helium as the carrier gas (0.01 mgN with argon). The NDA 702 guarantees the highest reproducibility with an RSD value of less than 0.5 %.

Measuring method

Functionality

The Dumas method involves combustion of the sample in the (CF) furnace at a temperature of over 1000 °C, producing elemental compounds. The NDA 702 provides for water separation in 2 steps.
The first with the physical DriStep™ trap strategically placed after combustion, and the second with a chemical trap that ensures complete water elimination.
Between the two traps, the gases produced pass through a reduction furnace (RF) where nitrogen oxidation compounds are converted into molecular nitrogen.
TheCO2 is then capturedby the unique self-regenerating absorbers (CO2) and thus eliminated from the sample gas.

At this point, the molecular nitrogen is detected by the innovative TCD LoGas™ thermal conductivity detector, which sends the data to DumaSoftTM to calculate the amount of nitrogen and protein. The whole process takes only 4 minutes!

DUMASoft™ software

The NDA 702 is designed to offer maximum ease of use with the intuitive DUMASoftTM user interface, making it easy to choose between helium and argon.
There is a section in the main window where you can check the status of the device. Setting up analyses is easy.
The database and real-time graph are easily accessible and with the connection for the balance, preparing the analysis is even faster.
DUMASoftTM includes an extensive library of preloaded methods, multilingual support and reporting capabilities with export to .csv files, LIMS and .xls files.
Create and manage calibration curves, name them and use the most appropriate curve. Manage the leak test and choose whether it should be performed for the entire circuit or just for one zone, e.g. after replacing a consumable.

The NDA 702 software can be extended with the optional 21 CFR Part 11 package for laboratories in the pharmaceutical, cosmetics and food industries that need to operate in compliance with the relevant FDA regulations.
