VELP offers two series of solvent extractors suitable for various applications in the food, environmental and pharmaceutical industries: the SER 148 and the SER 158
The VELP SER 148 Series is a semi-automatic solution with no concessions on operator safety (IP55) and solvent consumption also guaranteeing a controlled cost per analysis. The series consists of the SER 148/3 and the SER 148/6.
Combined to HU6 Hydrolysis Unit, it is possible to use the same vessels to prevent any potential sample loss between the two units.
Using the VELP SER 148 series, you are able to perform single or multiple solvent extractions with the Randall method, an improvement of Soxhlet technique, as hot solvents are used to speed up the analysis. The fast solubilization made by hot solvent also permits a considerable reduction of the extraction time (approx. 90 minutes). The extraction is made by immersion of the sample in the boiling solvent, followed by a rinsing phase with the solvent.
Both the VELP SER 148/3 and SER 148/6 ensure maximum reproducibility, as well as a high recovery rate of the solvent used.
The VELP SER 148 Series can be used with a wide range of sample types and with a variety of solvents, for increased flexibility.
The main field of application is the determination of the content of soluble products such as fats, detergents, plasticizers and pesticides in food, animal feeds, detergents, rubber and plastic formulas, pharmaceutical products, soil.
HU 6 Hydrolysis Unit: Safe and reliable hydrolysis unit, for total fat determination sample preparation prior to extraction.
Available in 3 and 6 positions, the VELP SER 158 series of extractors are fully automatic and cloud-enabled, guaranteeing security, accuracy and precision in the determination of extractable matter according to Randall and Twisselmann.
Fast and accurate solid-liquid extraction
The VELP SER 158 Series automatic solvent extractors are the accurate and precise solution for quantitative and qualitative extractable matter determination, analysing up to 5x faster than traditional Soxhlet.
As well as being fully automated to maximise productivity and free up operator time, the VELP SER 158 works in accordance with international standards such as AOAC, ISO, EPA, APHA, UNI. Safe and powerful heating combined with advanced software and security processes, guarantee reproducible extraction processes.
The SER 158 Series can work with all sample types and sizes thanks to its unparalleled versatility and wide range of accessories and consumables:
Combining up to 4 units, the VELP SER 158 is a universal solvent extractor enabling you to perform multiple applications independently and simultaneously.
The VELP SER 158 has been designed to work 24/7 whilst unattended, thanks to the Load&Go technologies, minimizing necessary operator intervention. Integrated yet removable, the ControlPad can be connected to a balance and barcode reader for maximum automation and traceability.
Any results are calculated immediately and stored on the on-board memory. The SER158 series includes three USB ports along with an Ethernet connection for data transfer to external devices.
The VELP SER 158 safe SolventXpress™ technology allows smart solvent dispensing, guaranteeing minimum exposure to solvents and ensuring operator safety. Any condensed solvent at the end of the analysis is collected in the cooled recovery tank in the back of the device and the solvent output is entirely automatic with one click on the ControlPad. VELP patent-pending titanium condensers guarantee unequalled solvent recovery of more than 90%.
The SER 158 is hermetically sealed, and the protective transparent cover preserves from spills and hot solvents. Advanced sensors continually monitor the extraction process and safeguard a safe analysis during all steps. For many fat extraction applications, the recovered solvent can be recycled, cutting down operating costs.
The main field of application is the determination of the content of soluble products such as fats, detergents, plasticizers and pesticides in food, animal feeds, detergents, rubber and plastic formulas, pharmaceutical products, soil.
