Oi Aurora 1030W

Total Organic Carbon (TOC) analyser – The original and best performing wet Persulfate TOC analyser

The versatile design of the Aurora 1030W ensures efficient processing of aqueous samples for analysis of total organic carbon (TOC), total inorganic carbon (TIC), and non-purgeable organic carbon (NPOC) content.

The recognised method of measuring TOC for water analysis

The 1030 Wet Oxidation Total Organic Carbon Analyser uses heated persulfate oxidation technology to determine organic contamination in aqueous samples at levels as low as 2 ppb up to 30,000 ppm.

Virtually all organic compounds dissolved in water can be oxidized by heated sodium persulfate (Na2S208). Concentrated solutions (1 or 1.5 M) can effectively oxidize organic matter present in the form of colloids, macromolecules, and suspended solids

The reaction chamber of the Aurora 1030W is thoroughly rinsed between analyses to eliminate residue from the previous sample. This ensures the Aurora 1030W maintains the low system background necessary for high sensitivity TOC measurements. This contrasts with combustion TOC analyzers in which residual salts accumulate on catalyst surfaces, degrading oxidation efficiency and causing higher blanks and background contamination.

The analyser comes with the option of an 88-position rotary autosampler which sits neatly under the 1030W saving valuable bench space whilst offering robust and reliable, high capacity throughput. It comes with an optional second oxidation chamber supporting concurrent sample processing. In addition, the analyser is capable of operating in a stand-alone or networked configuration and offers the option to use vendor-supplied software on a PC to have remote access and control via a secure network.

OI 1030W TOC Cavity Ring Down Spectroscopy (CRDS)

The OI Aurora 1030W TOC Analyser ensures high-throughput analysis of liquid samples for organic contamination by the heated persulfate wet oxidation technique and additional configuration allows extended scope of capability to also test δ13C.

The coupling of a Picarro δ13C-CO2 analyser with the OI Analytical Aurora 1030W TOC analyser enables the system to provide δ13C measurements of the dissolved carbon in water samples. Applications include; analysis of groundwater, surface water, estuaries, sea water and industrial water.

The system is fully automated for the measurement of dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC) in salt and fresh water by acidification, and δ13C in dissolved organic carbon (DOC) in fresh water by sodium persulfate oxidation.

The CRDS system is fully automated for the measurement of up to 88 samples.
